ILME is a multi-art cultural cooperative based in Oulu, Finland. ILME produces community art and art with the social and health sector. ILME works locally but builds national and international networks and publishes open calls for artworks from around Europe. ILME is also the coordinating partner of the Creative Europe project “Producing One-to-One Art Events and Sharing the Experiences” that is publishing this very portal.
How do you promote or produce one-to-one art?
ILME has organised the annual one-to-one art festival Kehä in Oulu since 2015. The festival started with Oulu based artists and has grown to an event that hosts interesting artworks from around Europe and beyond.
What do you emphasize in your one-to-one work?
Kehä is not only a performance festival but also welcomes artists from other artfields too. Kehä is for anyone who wants to explore possibilities of one-to-one. We seek artists with different expertise: some might have a background in community art and some in other, perhaps very specific, contemporary art.
ILME wants to create space for the artists to meet and share experiences.
ILME takes one-to-one works also to the spaces of social and healthcare. As an organisation we want to develop in supporting artists with vulnerabilities or need for extra support.
What is important for you to tell in this portal?
If you want to collaborate with us, please take contact. We are curious. We believe in meeting people.
